Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Care Razor - Review

Do you love going to your mailbox and finding a package that you weren't expecting? Who doesn't?!?! So imagine my surprise and excitement on Wednesday when I saw a BzzAgent box waiting for me. I had signed up for two campaigns that are starting shortly... so I couldn't wait to see which product had arrived.

What is BzzAgent you ask? I am not sure how I found out about the site... but it is a company that matches consumers with products or services to get their honest opinions and to spread information about the product or service with their friends and family. Word-of-mouth is a very powerful tool in getting product knowledge out (look at TripAdvisor and Yelp).  More and more people plan their purchases, vacations, and what services to use based on other people's experiences.  So, companies go to BzzAgent to find people to spread the word. When you become a member of BzzAgent you will have surveys to fill out (so keep checking the website) and depending on your answers you get invited to participate in campaigns.  With each campaign you are asked to complete activities, which include posting about the product/ service on Facebook, Twitter, or other social media and writing a review on your experience. In your review, not only do they want your personal opinion and experience, they also like to hear the feedback from your discussions with your friends and family. There is also a survey that has to be completed after the campaign has finished.

Back to my surprise box... of course I had to tear into the box (which comes with cute bee tape around it) and it is a Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Care Razor! Finally, a razor for sensitive skin.  No more cuts, bumps, irritation, or redness! The Hydro Silk Razor has hypoallergenic moisturizing serum infused with shea butter, 5 curve-sensing blades for a close shave, and skin guards to protect your skin from irritation. The BzzAgent box included one Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Care Razor, 3 razor cartridges, 1 coupon for a free Skintimate shaving cream, and 4 coupons for $4.00 off Schick Hydro Silk razors to share with friends and family.

I got this all for my feedback!  So... what did I think?

I give the Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Silk Care Razor a 5 out of 5.  It will be replacing the other two that I have (one also being a Schick) and I will definitely be purchasing more cartridges. I highly recommend it, even if you do not have any skin sensitivity.  My 4 main points of why I love this razor:
     1.  The razor is not only nice looking, the handle is very comfortable hold.  It's not too thick and not too thin, making it easy move the razor around.
     2.  Shaving was smooth (even smoother when using the Skintimate shaving cream). Most importantly, no bumps or redness!  Even around the bikini area!
     3.  The Hydro Silk gets a very close shave... and for once there were not cuts!
     4.  My legs felt incredibly soft and silky even before putting on lotion!

So, what are you waiting for?  Get out there and try the Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Care Razor for yourself.

Have you tried the Schick Hydro Silk razor? What did you think about it? What is your favorite razor?

Julep January Maven Box

Before I go into my Julep January Maven box, let me introduce you to Julep.
Julep is a monthly beauty subscription service (yes, there are beauty subscriptions!) that costs $19.99 per month (US) and consists of nail polish and beauty products.  The price is great, especially when you take into consideration that Sephora sells Julep nail polishes for $14 a piece!  When you first subscribe on the site, you will take a beauty quiz which will determine your style profile.  Most profiles include 2 nail polishes and one beauty product. On the 20-24th of each month you can preview the products that will come in your box.  At this time you can choose to skip the month (this is one of the only subscriptions that I found that you can do this with), pick a different style, or you can sit back and do nothing and you will have your style profile box sent to you.  Your credit card gets charged on the 27th of the month, which is the day your box gets shipped.  Each month has a theme and comes with an inspirational card and a little surprise!

Another great thing about Julep is that you earn Jules (reward points)!  You get 100 Jules when you sign up, 300 Jules for each full priced Maven box you are billed for, 200 Jules on your birthday, 500 Jules on your anniversary month, 750 Jules when you pay for an upgraded box, and 1000 Jules for inviting friends who become Mavens.  You can then redeem the Jules for products or a free box! That's awesome!

My Maven style profile is "It Girl."  Their description of "It Girl" is "You're a colorful trendsetter who's not afraid to be bold."  Under this profile you get 3 limited edition polishes.  In the past I have opted out of "It Girl" and chosen another category (depending on the colors and/or the beauty product offered). I have also skipped months.

I subscribed back in June and received the July box and also purchased a Mystery Box (yes, they have Mystery Boxes!).  I have to admit that I was not very impressed with the colors or the quality, so I skipped a couple of months.  Come October, which I had planned to cancel but completely forgot. This was the BEST thing ever!!  When I received my Maven Box and saw the colors I was soooo excited (how many o's was that?)!  I absolutely loved the 3 polishes and feel that the quality has improved.  I have not skipped a month since.  I will go backwards and post pics and reviews of my past Maven boxes at a later time.

Jump to the January 2014 Maven Box.
The theme this month is Boudoir Collection.  The inspirational card says, "2014 will be my year" which I love!  The surprise... two small, orange nail buffers that say Julep on them.  As an "It Girl" I received Farrah, Annemarie, and Hope.

Farrah has a silk finish and is an amazing lilac color.  This was the color that I was most excited for when I saw the preview.  I was not disappointed!  The color is great and I feel that one coat gives a lot of coverage.

Annemarie has a cream finish and is a beautiful, glossy cocoa color.  I was iffy about this polish, but it quickly became my favorite.  I absolutely LOVE it!  After taking the pictures for this blog, I just HAD to use Annemarie for my manicure and pedicure.

The last polish is Hope.  Described as a satin finish, Hope is a flat white.  This was my least favorite. Remember the chalk boards when you were a kid?  That is what this polish reminds me of, but in white of course.  Not to say that I will not use it, but this is more of complimentary color that you will use for one finger or add designs on top.

Overall, I would rate this box a 4 out of 5.  Great job Julep!

If you are interested in expanding your nail polish collection or just want to try some great products, sigh up for Julep.  You can use my referral link:

If you are a Julep subscriber, what is your style profile?  What colors did you receive?  What would you rate your January Maven box?  What was your favorite color?

Welcome to QttieStyle

Welcome to QttieStyle!  A blog full of fun and exciting reviews, ideas, and more.  I hope that you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

A self-proclaimed Princess since I was the age of 2 (just ask my mother the Queen), I love makeup, nail polish, clothes... pretty much anything and everything girlie!  I also love movies, music, books, hockey, and (like most of you) I am addicted to Pinterest.  I love to go out and meet new people and create new experiences.  The love of sharing my experiences with my friends and family became the motivation for this blog.

Throughout QttieStyle, I will post reviews and pictures of products that I receive (complimentary, through beauty subscriptions, gifts, or that I purchase).  I will review movies (good and bad), introduce music that I like, and I will experiment with recipes, looks, and crafts found on Pinterest.  I may even throw a few surprises here and there... so watch out!

I hope that you will walk this journey with me.
